Welcome to my World of Wonderment

Our planet is a neat place, full of weird and unusual people doing weird and unusual things. One oddball thing I like to do is geocache. What other activity is there that makes people travel hundreds of miles to climb a mountain, wade a river, and fight a Bigfoot, just to be the first person to sign a piece of paper rolled up in a 35mm film canister stuffed in the knot hole of a tree? I can't think of any other sport that has such a great mix of technology and the wonderful outdoors. A lot of geocaches are placed in a beautiful setting, or hidden in a challenging or unique way, or in a historical setting. Geocaching allows the finder to share in some of the hiders favorite places, and along the way you get to meet some interesting characters, and occasionally learn something new. While this blog is primarily a geocaching blog, I also use this place to post the occasional funny video or weird news story, or as a platform to rant or rave about something I really have to share. But for the most part this website is about you, the weirdo walking around in circles, talking into your GPS unit like it's a phone, pretending your taking pictures of a phone booth to find find the tiniest micro-cache, or circling your car around and around a light pole in a parking lot trying to retrieve a cache without even getting out of your car.

Bristol Palin's Baby Names

With brothers and sisters with the silly names of Track, Trig, Willow, and Piper, and a boyfriend named Levi, I was wondering what Bristol would name her little bastard. I didn't have to look far for the answer.

Baby names!



While Bristol and I were getting our nails done this morning we talked a lot about the new baby coming into our lives. She really wants to name the baby Rocky whether it is a boy or a girl but I don't know, I don't think that's very classy. So we brainstormed some other, more traditional names. We don't know yet if it's going to be a girl or a boy so we made a list for each one. Picking baby names is SO MUCH FUN!



GIRL NAMES



  • Alaska (or maybe this is a boy's name?)
  • Jetta
  • Tungsten
  • SoCo (I've never heard of this before but Bristol says it has some kind
    of special meaning to her and Levi, maybe it's a fancy restaurant where
    they went on their first date or something)
  • Lynx
  • Pelican
  • Opalyn
  • Cialis (Bristol just made this one up! isn't it pretty? She's so creative.)


BOY NAMES



  • Pelt
  • Talon (or maybe this is a girl's name?)
  • Ronald Reagan (Mr. mccain is pushing pretty hard for this one)
  • Wrangler
  • Exxon (this one is sort of a family name)
  • Buck
  • Bullet (I like this one but there are already so many kids in
    Alaska named this, and I think he should have a name that's a little
    more unusual).
  • Gunner
  • Grinder


Any other ideas? Bristol is going to talk to Levi about these
tomorrow so if anyone has any super ideas we can add them to the list.

Off Limits My Ass

Sarah Palin is trying to be the next Vice President of the United States. The only real experience at leadership she has is being a parent. And we aren't supposed to point out how ironic it is that this abstinence loving, no condom wearing, bury our head in the sand when it comes to sex candidate, has a pregnant teenager? How is she supposed to help run a country when she can't even handle her own children?
